Privacy

What candor.themethodic.com and the Candor UI registry keep, and why. Last updated 5 November 2026.

The site

No analytics, no advertising and no cookies. The site remembers only your light, dark or high-contrast choice, in your own browser. Our host, Vercel, keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested and times) to run and secure the site.

Installing components

When you install a paid item, the shadcn CLI sends your licence key to the registry, which checks it with Polar; candor-ui key and candor-ui doctor send it the same way to check it. Keys aren't stored or logged: a valid answer is remembered for up to 10 minutes as a one-way hash of the key, so repeat installs don't ask Polar again. Free items need no key. The host logs each request (IP address, item and time) like any other page.

Buying

Polar (polar.sh) is the seller of record: it takes payment, handles tax and refunds, and issues your licence key, under Polar's own privacy policy. We see your name, email and what you bought, to support you and keep the licence honest. We don't sell or share your details for anyone else's marketing.
